What Is An Order Picker?
An Order Picker is a machine which raises the operator up into the air, with the load, to place or retrieve stock into racking. The operator drives the machine from a fenced in drivers platform and wears a safety harness to keep them from falling out.
The machines are driven like a forklift at low levels with loads usually stacked onto a pallet. By parking parallel to the pallet racking, operators can raise the pallet and drivers platform into the air to load or unload goods into high level racking bays.
So How Does The LO Course Work?
The courses are held over two consecutive days (8am till 4pm) and include both practical and theory training.You'll be taught all of the necessary theory knowledge required to operate safely and get the licence as well as how to perform the practical tasks such as:
Manuovering the machine around obstacles, picking- placing and retrieving from different heights, how to handle emergency situations, checking, charging and correctly parking the machine and more.
At the end of the second day of training you'll sit the WorkCover licence test with one of our freindly and profession assessors. On successful completion, you'll receive a Statement of Attainment and a Nationally Recognised LO licence.
